Performance and Resource Optimization

GreenStream — Efficient Video Streaming with VMS Software

Save network bandwidth and client CPU resources with adaptive video streaming

GreenStream is your solution for optimizing network bandwidth and conserving client CPU resources through adaptive video streaming. GreenStream intelligently selects a camera stream that matches the current resolution of the video displayed on the client screen.

For example, on a 1920 x 1080 screen with a 4 x 4 camera layout, each camera video is downscaled to just 480 x 270 pixels. When you expand a camera video to full screen, its resolution is 1920 x 1080. GreenStream automatically switches to the optimal camera stream, eliminating the need to transmit and decode full-resolution video from all cameras. This innovative approach reduces network and client load and enhances overall efficiency.

Enhanced Camera Streaming

Receive and process 3+ streams from IP cameras

Axxon One introduces an advanced feature, allowing the reception and processing of three and more video streams from a single IP camera. This offers a range of possibilities for optimizing your video surveillance system’s performance, such as employing separate streams for recording, display, and video analysis. In addition, the precision of our GreenStream technology is elevated, as the system intelligently selects the most suitable video stream for the current screen resolution, saving bandwidth and computing power. Elevate your surveillance efficiency with Axxon One’s enhanced streaming capabilities.

Metadata from IP Devices — Enhance Video Management Systems

Use Edge Analytics, save server computing power

Leverage Edge Analytics to save valuable server computing power with metadata from smart IP cameras. Metadata provides a streamlined description of moving objects within the scene, essential for real-time video analysis or forensic search. It’s generated directly on cameras equipped with embedded object trackers, eliminating the need for video decoding on the server. This significantly reduces the CPU burden on the VMS server, enabling it to handle more video streams efficiently.

GPU acceleration

Hardware video decoding

  • Reduced footprint on server CPU performance, especially when decoding H.265 video feeds.
  • Dramatically improved decoding times.
  • Servers can handle more concurrent video streams at Full HD resolution and higher.
  • More cameras can be connected to a single server, reducing hardware expenses and support issues.
  • You can show more video feeds on the client computer screen or use client computers with lower performance specs.

UDP and multicasting

Frees up network bandwidth

Axxon One features a whole range of tools for reducing network bandwidth consumption and making security systems more efficient. Live video can be streamed from a server to client computers via UDP, multicasting is supported as well. Multicasting conserves network capacity when transmitting video to multiple clients, enhancing the performance and scalability of your video management system.
